Welcome to Salian Adhi Moolasthana!

Parivara Moola Nagasthana and Parivara Dhaivas worshiped for about 4-5 centuries.

A place of rich heritage

South Canara and Udupi district have rich heritage of ‘Moolasthanas and Nagabrahma Banas’ that are worshipped by various families. Our Salian Adhi Moolasthana Palimar is one such place of worship with rich heritage. Our ancestors were worshipping various parivara daivas’ for about 4-5 centuries To be precise, in the year 1838, our elder Nanda Saphaliga started worshipping Kundelu Panjurli Daiva that had presence in a bush of Kundelu plants. Our Salian family is worshipping this “Kundelu Panjurli” also since then. A natural Naga Bana that formed next to this Kundelu Panjurli Daivasthana is now being worshipped as our Parivara Moola Nagasthana. After the period of Sri Nanda Saphaliga, Salian families of Palimaru Thenka Mane and Bengre Mitta Mane had been taking care of this Moolasthana. In 1898, with the help of then Palimar Mutt seer, the Daivasthana was renovated with a tiled roof building on a land got under Moolageni from the Mutt and the Daivas’ and Naga are being worshipped there regularly since then.

The family was worshiping the Moola Maisandaya, Marulu Dhoomavathi, Kantheri Dhoomavathi, Raktheshwari, Kshetrapala, Bobbarya, Nandigona, Guru Peeta, Panjurli, Kundelu Panjurli, Maisandaya and Baikardy in the old building for more than a century. In 1992, then Executive Committee, Mumbai Branch and the whole family and donors joined hands to renovate this old building. Daivasthana, Nagabana were renovated and Punar Pratishta, Nagamandala and many religious programs were successfully conducted and the Moolasthana was rejuvenated to our satisfaction.

In the year 2015, Nagabana was renovated and Punar Pratishta was done religiously along with Nagamandala seva. The efforts of the family, the developments that followed and the regular religious activities in the place has been attracting devotees, their family members and other general public devotees, The number of visitors to this place is ever increasing which is a thing of pride for all of us.
